Diablo Sea Bears – September 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by President, Tom P. Those present were: Tom, Doris and Daughter Denise, Kathy, Walt, Bob T., Dan and Jeri, Ron and Michelle, Bob and Judy S., Roger, Richard and Kevin.
It was reported that the next “Free Camping” weekend would be the weekend of September 14th, 15th.
Roger our Safety officer reported that everyone should make sure they are water tight and dive safely.
It was discussed as to what constitutes an “Official Dive Weekend”. Non-scheduled weekends must have 3 or more Sea Bears and phone calls should be made to as many members as possible.
It was discussed to lookup “Free fishing days” from the Dept. of Fish & Game for next year when planning the calendar. Free fishing days do not count for those who have already purchased a Fishing License. Kevin notified everyone that the Fishing Licenses for the year 2008 will be sold differently, through a point-of-sale system where the license and tags will be printed at the register.
At the October meeting there will be planning for the Dive Calendar for the next year. Richard said that there were Tide Tables at the Albion Office to help us with our planning through August, 2008.
Richard also let everyone know that he had spoken with the new managers who said they had no problem making reservations now for next year. It was also discussed that the club should make a block reservation for the next year for Opening and Holiday weekends and that the Club send in the deposit. It was also recommended that the reservations be made with the new managers, not Erica or Francisco.
The Golden Ab Award was given to Ron for pulling the power cord out of the pole when moving Roger’s truck and camper out. Members were also reminded to make sure they back their trailer into spots or have a Sea Bear in front of you, as Tom and Doris didn’t do.
It will be “California Cleanup” at our September 14th, 15th weekend. Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 3rd. Thank you to Kathy and Kevin for taking notes for me to write the Newsletter.
Attached is the flyer for our December Christmas Party at Kevin and Margie’s Home. There will be a signup sheet for food to be brought, if you can’t make the meeting please call Margie or send me an e-mail and I can give you something to bring.
