Diablo Sea Bears – June 2008 Newsletter
Members attending the meeting were: Dan and Jeri, Bob and Judy, Bob T., Walt, Craig, Linda and Caitlin, Richard, Kevin, Margie and Amanda.
In reference to the newsletter, Margie reminded dive masters to email or send your reports to her after your dive weekend. My email address is (mcpuent@sbcglobal.net).
Since there have been dates added to the dive calendar, there are slots available for dive masters. Make sure to let Dan know if you are willing to take one of the weekends.
Walt received dues payments from Bob T, Joe L and Dan & Jeri W. A reminder to all, your dues are due to Doris by June 30th.
Kevin reported that he had updated the website a little and would be adding pictures. Make sure when you do send pictures that you include captions.
New Business: There was a motion to give a windbreaker with the Diablo Sea Bears logo on it to the individuals who had the largest abalone, largest poled fish and largest speared fish from last year. The motion was approved.
Craig mentioned that there was the possibility he would be able to get an oxygen tank for the club. He was going to look in to the liability issue and cost to the club. There was also discussion as to who would be willing to take classes to be trained and be responsible for the first aid using a tank.
President Dan reported that there were members who were showing interest in doing halibut fishing in the Monterey area. Contact Dan if you are interested in joining.
There was a discussion as to whether to have a meeting in July at Round Table Pizza or have one the 4th of July weekend in Albion. Since a number of the members will not be available to attend in Benicia, the meeting at Round Table will be cancelled and resume at Round Table in August.
