Diablo Sea Bears – January 2008 Newsletter
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by President, Dan Wilson. Those present were: Dan, Tom and Doris, Walt, Kathy, Craig, Linda and Caitlin, Bob and Judy, Bob T. with visitor Bob Rice, Kevin and Margie.
Kathy read the minutes from the December meeting and as Vice President wished everyone a Happy New Year.
Safety Officer, Craig reminded everyone that diving and fishing season is coming up fast. He suggested that we might be able to have someone from Solano County Search & Rescue to a meeting to speak with the members about diving safety.
Webmaster Kevin that there were no changes to the webpage and that he was going to archive 2006 pictures. He mentioned that there were not many pictures submitted in 2007.
Membership Doris said that there are now two members paid through 2009.
Under old business there was voting for “Sea Bear of the Year”. The individual to be announced at our opening campout weekend, April 4th and 5th. Judy S. proposed that the Sea Bear of the Year have a year free of dues which was seconded and passed by members present. Bob S. and Bob T. with the help of Kathy counted the votes and told us that there was a tie for voting of Sea Bear of the Year. Therefore there would be two members with a year of free dues.
Judy suggested that members remember to call Albion and make their reservations for this year. She said that they are already getting a number of reservations.
Kevin told the members that this years Abalone punch card would also have tags that cannot be separated from the punch card.
The meeting ended at 8:07 pm. Hope to see everyone at the February 6th meeting.
