Greetings to all you Sea Bears!
The February 7th meeting was called to order by President, Tom P. at about 7:30 p.m. Those in attendance were: Tom and Doris, Roger and Nancy, Richard, Tom and Audrey, Michele and Ron, Bob and Judy, Craig, Linda and Caitlin, Dan and Jerri, Bob Tozzi, Kevin and Margie.
Safety officer Roger, reminded all divers that it is just 1 ½ months till opening of Abalone Season and you should have all of your gear checked out and serviced.
Webmaster Kevin reported that the website had been updated and new pictures uploaded.
Judy reported that Albion River Campground still did not have a manager. We will be in the “C” section for Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Remember to call and make your reservations, or even better send a note listing the dates you are interested in and a deposit check.
Bob S. has the new hats which cost $20.00 each.
Those present at the meeting voted for the “Sea Bear of the Year” and the “Bear Ass Award”. We will find out who the deserving recipients are at the 1st Dive weekend, April 6th and 7th.
Craig B. posted a flier at Sports Chalet (Vacaville) and Kevin posted one at Nautilus Aquatics (Concord).
The fishing scale has been located, Walt P. has it. Walt, please remember to bring the scale to our March meeting so that it can be given to our 1st Dive Master. Dive Masters need to remember to pass the scale on to the next dive master. Attached is a copy of the weekends scheduled for the year 2007. As you can see we still need volunteer Dive Masters for some weekends.
We had a drawing for the one night free camping. The weekends will be August 10th-11th and September 14th-15th. For one free night of camping you must stay two nights.
The largest Ab for 2006 – Roger H. – 9 5/8”
Largest poled fish – Adam M. – 28.5 lbs.
Next meeting – Wednesday, March 7th.
