April 2008 – Newsletter
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by President, Dan W. Those also present were Jeri, Walt, Tom & Doris, Kathy, Bob & Judy, Richard, Bob T., Craig, Linda and Caitlin, Joe, Kevin & Margie. Also, guests were Ricky (Kathy’s son) and our guest speaker from Pacific Reef Dive Shop, Harry, Kathy and Dave.
Vice President Kathy wished everyone good luck for the upcoming opening dive weekend at Albion.
Membership Doris and Secretary/Newsletter Margie had no report.
Safety Officer Craig introduced our guest speaker who he had invited from Pacific Reef Dive Center in Vacaville.
Webmaster Kevin reminded everyone to send pictures that he could use in updating those on the website.
President Dan announced that the “Sea Bears of the Year” would be announced at the first weekend up in Albion.
Harry from Pacific Reef Dive Center spoke to the members about how to avoid “Decompression Illness”. He told us of the importance in needing 100% oxygen, call EMS to take you to the Hospital and contact “Divers Alert Network” for assistance. Remember your diving safety guidelines.
They also had a large first aid kit for members to look over.
Kathy from Pacific Reef invited members to come up to their shop and join in on some of the classes they offer. President Dan sent out an invitation if any of them would like to join us one weekend in Albion and told them to call Albion for reservations.
There were signups for the first dive weekend at Albion and Craig is the Dive Master for the next outing April 18th and 19th. Please contact him is you are going up.
The meeting ended about 8:15 pm.
